CARICOM Development Fund's Advisor
Nicholas Fields
Nicholas' professional experience spans eleven years, with eight years working specifically on multi-sector climate change adaptation and resilient development initiatives in multiple small island and low-lying coastal developing states within the wider Caribbean region. Over this time, Nicholas has contributed to climate risk assessments, vulnerability and capacity assessments, adaptation strategies and action plans, technical papers and briefs, case studies and other knowledge products. Nicholas has applied climate change knowledge and expertise to multiple sectoral contexts, including agriculture, energy, tourism, fisheries, and marine and coastal resources - in large part because these sectors bear the most physical and transitional risks associated with climate change, while simultaneously holding major socioeconomic significance across the Caribbean region and some Latin American countries.
“The opportunity to learn and expand my understanding of climate finance – and particularly the challenges that the Caribbean region face in respect of access and scale, to participate in capacity building efforts to surmount those challenges in mobilizing climate finance, and to create positive and meaningful impact within the organizations that CFAN is supporting.”
