CFAN Impact Report 2026
Celebrating Five Years of the Climate Finance Access Network
It has been five years since RMI launched the Climate Finance Access Network (CFAN) with an initial grant of $7 million and climate finance advisors in eight countries in the Pacific. Today, that investment has turned into 15 advisors across as many countries and institutions in both the Pacific and Caribbean, and a global project pipeline of over $2.6 billion.
The 2026 Impact Report celebrates not only what CFAN has accomplished in the preceding year, but also what the past five years represent for the network. Powered by a collaboration between countries, regional organizations, and development partners, CFAN advisors have supported more than 150 climate projects, mobilized millions of dollars for climate solutions and resilience, trained over 1,000 practitioners, and worked alongside a growing community of 25+ members and partners.
In the past year, CFAN advisors have secured project finance in record time, supported remote island communities, financed water and health projects that will directly benefit tens of thousands of people, and avoided more than a million tons of carbon emissions. A new training module focused on biodiversity supports the continued development of project pipelines aligned with regional priorities and countries’ access to broader sources of critical funding.
CFAN has always been fundamentally rooted in people power: in how countries can better achieve their ambitions with the support of dedicated, highly trained, and well-networked experts committed to unlocking finance. And the outcomes of this model result in tangible, meaningful results: stronger coastlines, more resilient food systems, and cleaner, more secure energy systems.
This latest Impact Report illustrates the potential of the CFAN model, with success stories from the ground, insights from partners, and the numbers that tell the story of unblocking the climate finance bottleneck. Sustained support will allow CFAN to continue to unlock finance, strengthen institutions, and deepen the partnerships that make this work possible.
